So they decided to release this once again.. Seems it has been remastered yet again at the Abbey Roads studio in London from the original stereo mixdown tape (on the original 2” multitrack tapes, which probably don’t exist anymore). In addition to a really nice packaging and book, you get a DVD with the complete concert in very high end 5.1 audio (not true 5.1 as they only had the stereo mix to work with). IT also includes the original Silver Machine and Urban Guerrilla promo videos, the later, which had not been seen by many, including myself, who is a major Hawkwind collector! It is not a DVD of the live concert, only audio, just to set that straight. Also, they have included the full version of Brainstorm, which was edited on the original version. Why in the world did they not include the full version of Time we left this World Today (which was also edited), I don’t understand, as a bonus track, we do get a full version of this song from another performance as well as alternative versions of Orgone Accumulator and You shouldn’t do that.
Anyway, if you have not bought this classic LP on CD, then this is for sure
the version to buy and if you are Hawkwind obsessed and have a really good 5.1
system, then you will be rewarded with a great sound experience and some heavy
spaced out music for over 2 hrs!!!!!
