Circle - "Soundcheck"
(Full Contact KRYPT005)

From Aural Innovations #41 (October 2010)

Circle is back with another live record. This was recorded in Lahti, Finland at the Space Force One Festival in October 2009. It features 4 tracks and starts with the short and mellow track Kukkakaalia Kapteenit! It actually sounds like it was just a soundcheck jam. This leads into Tuhatsata, which is over 20 minutes long and quite a trip. It starts with some repetitive elements and Mr. Rättö on vocals and Jussi comes in with the deeper vocals to counter him as the guitars are noodling away. After about 7 minutes the song (jam) is becoming more cohesive and the bands is finding the sound and feeling as everything builds in intensity and Rättö just goes screaming wild. This also sounds like it was a jammed out track. Side B starts with Virsi (9½ minutes). This starts off very operatic and dramatic but then goes into full on psychedelic jazz chaos madness. Nopeuskuningas is another 14 minute trip and very intense and heavy metal! A pretty cool vinyl only release.
