Circle- Arkades
(Fourth Dimensions Records FDCD71)

From Aural Innovations #37 (Sep 2007)

This is the re-release of the previous vinyl only release of Circle’s in the studio appearance at WFMU in New Jersey in 2005. In addition you get a second CD of a live performance from Tampere, Finland also from 2005. The strange texas theme is bizarre with the artwork but this does not translate into country music… The Rebel Platter (as CD1, WFMU performance is called) features two 20 min+ tracks, which are much like the stuff the band was doing around this period of time. Long strange drones with some crazy vocals at times. Quite hypnotic stuff..

The CD live from Tampere begins with a really cool groove and guitar riff that slowly builds up and Mika comes in with some vocals. Very stoned trance stuff.. Ibizan Rambo isa repetitive electronic sequence and some strange vocalizations that eventually devolves and leads into the next piece, which quite a heavy track, but just to start then a repetitive part takes over and some cool electric piano, before it all goes strange… There you have it! This double CD is a good value for the money.
