Dexter Jones Circus Orchestra- Side by Side
(Fuzzrama Records 007)

From Aural Innovations #36 (May 2007)

First off, if you see the biography or read on the web page, “Imagine QOTSA jamming with the Allman Brothers”, they aren’t talking about this band. They also state ridiculous things like “their songs are as heavy as it gets”.. Not sure what planet or what album they have heard but not this one… Anyway, this is a damn good CD it is just not heavy and it has nothing to do with the Allman Brothers…there is not even one song over 5 minutes and guitar solos come and go…

The band plays really well crafted rock songs with a lot of character and spunk and room for jamming but sadly they never do, at least on the record. The singer reminds me a lot of the guy from the Brimstone Solar Radiation Band but also sometimes like Sting (when he is not wining). Some of the tracks are really stands out and amazing songs, like We don’t Care and Feel the Cold. These guys have a cool and unique sound of their own and have a very promising future…
