Misery Signals are part of the whole scene of bands that are mixing hardcore with melodic metal. For me, it just does not work. I think the clash of styles are too hard. I like atmospheric music but with these angry screaming vocals all the fucking time, it just drives me away. People are raving about the record and maybe these guys will be the next big thing with Mastodon but I just don't get it. Certainly, these young guys can play very well but the music just does not speak to me. Luckily you get the lyrics as it is very hard to understand what the guy is screaming about. Anyway, if you like this style of hardcore meets melodic metal (no guitar solos), go for it. Cool booklet and artwork.
