Whoremoan - "Youth Must Dare"
(British Burbs 2005)

From Aural Innovations #33 (March 2006)

This British band play balls out stoner rock. Yeah... they love Kyuss, Nebula, Fu Manchu and the rest, but they try to give it their own personal twist. The CD had a very heavy bottom end to really shake the floor of your pad. The CD starts off with "Killer Gorilla" and goes for the throat straight away and has a really cool guitar riff. Headbanging stuff! "Hit and Run" is next and a bit more like Fu Manchu but sped up a bit. "All Your Rights" is a bit more heavy and then just takes off like a freight train of heaviness and has some killer wah guitar. "Until the Water" has a totally different groove and is a bit more repetitive, in a good way, as you get sucked into it. "Sympathy Crutch" slows things down for a minute, but not for too long. "Actonvonskilliant" picks up the speed and is also a bit more melodic is some ways and instrumental. "Capri" features the cowbell and is quite a cool Fu Manchu rocker. The band continues on with "Cow is Now", another quite groovy heavy number at a slower pace. The CD finishes with "Holes in the Ground", which you can also see a video of on your computer! Whoremoan is all about being heavy. No wimpy shit here. Just in your face ass kicking stoner rock.
