The Brimstone Solar Radiation Band
(Big Dipper Records BDRCD043)

From Aural Innovations #30 (February 2005)

This is one hell of a debut CD by this band from Bergen in Norway. It begins with a quiet acoustic song and then the groove kicks in and the band is flying. It is a great mixture of 60's (Doors inspired), 70's (UK Folk-rock style stuff) and raw energy. R. Edwards has a very special voice but after awhile, it grows on you. The music is very heavily based on organ and acoustic guitar but also you hear some sitar, mandolin and Rhoads piano. While most of the music is very melodic, that band can get psyched out on occasion, and jam a bit as well. I can't wait to catch the band at Stengade 30 on January 20th!
