Ronja - Demo 2004 (Ronja 01)

From Aural Innovations #29 (October 2004)

Ronja is a stoner-biker rock band from Aalborg, Denmark. This is their second effort and a more mature sound has arrived. It has a nice heavy production sound, not too slick. The CD opens with "Atomic Takeaway". It is a typical stoner rock groove and features the strong deep vocals of Jeppe and a cool pounding ending to this song. THIS MUST BE PLAYED LOUD! "Bonesmoker" is a great groove track and reminds me a lot of Magnified Eye (also from Denmark) in the way that vocal is delivered. "Calling All Wheels" starts with an engine sample but has an excellent groove that sucks you in right away. This song will have you singing along with the band, "Rolliní Rolliní rock and and a rolling!". Biker Rock and Roll!!!!!!!! The CD ends with "Juice Of Doom". It does not really become very doomy until the end of the song. I canít wait to see these guys live! A welcome band on the small Stoner rock scene here in Denmark that includes only a few bands, unlike our neighbour, Sweden!
