Jellyfish Syndrome - Demo 2004 (Sweden)

From Aural Innovations #29 (October 2004)

Like the sticker says, Sexually frustrated sonic fuzz ass rock! This band plays some crazy but very cool music. It is a bit QOTSA influenced for sure, but the harder more freaky stuff. If you had given QOTSA some acid! The opening track takes off like a freight train and rocks like hell. "Have You Seen The Bridge" is a strange 30 second thing. Weird. "Never Thought You’d Sink That Low" is a more groovy wah wah psych freak rocker with strange voices and screaming voices as the groove builds up. "Haemoglobin" has some distorted vocals like on the old Butthole surfer records but a more stoner groove. Fun stuff. Now some very strange sounds and effected drums is soon taken over by a heavy aggressive riff that is really foot stomping. I thought we were going to get a really long psych track as it is 13 minutes but it is mostly silent after 3 minutes. "Cinnamon Song" ends the CD and is acoustic and like stoned blues. Great stuff. This band keeps getting better and better for sure. I hope a label will recognize the goodness in the mayhem!
