Dimma - "Pengar I Sjön"
(Group Sounds GS010)

From Aural Innovations #29 (October 2004)

Dimma are a fairly new Swedish band. Group Sounds is a label dedicated to ROCK. Dimma has previously released a 7” record on the label. Anyway, this four piece band love the rock of the 70’s, like their countryman, Abramis Brama, Svarte Pan and Witchcraft! At times the band remind me of November (not as much as Svarte Pan) and other older Swedish bands. They sing all in Swedish, so I don’t really know what they are talking about, if it is serious subjects, funny, love songs or stupid shit! No idea. Anyway, this is 70’s inspired riff based rock. The singer has a rough voice but good for this style of music. I think they have a lot of great songs but they really lack in the lead guitar department. The last two songs on the CD have guest lead players but solos rarely arise during the other songs and this makes it a bit boring for me. Name a 70’s hard rocking band that had no guitar solos? They did not exist? What is up with the Swedish stoner-riff rock scene where no one wants to be soloist?? I don’t get it. This would rock so much more with some killer lead guitars. Just my opinion. Check it out!
