Seid - Mines Of Moria 7"
(35G Records 35G013)

From Aural Innovations #23 (April 2003)

This single was printed in only 200 copies on brown vinyl and is very cool. Clearly a dedication to the Lord of the Rings movies and well done. This is a short follow up release to the brilliant Among the Monster Flowers Again CD. It starts with the title track and some brooding drums like the orcs and goblins are coming up from the depths, then the deep bass lines and cool keyboards enter. They create such a great moody, mysterious space rock tribute to Tolkien. A great track. Side B is two tracks, "Ze Evil Gnome" and "The Ancient Forest". "Ze Evil Gnome" has a really great upbeat organ and bass and almost evokes a laugh out of you. A very fun, emotional song. "The Ancient Forest" has a mysterious almost medieval sound as the song passes through very happy parts to very creepy parts that remind me of the song "Steven" by Alice Cooper. A great release. I can’t wait to see the band live and hear more music. One of the best space rock bands in Scandinavia!
