Erfmen - 2 song demo (self-released 2001)

From Aural Innovations #18 (January 2002)

From Kansas City, Erfmen play heavy psychedelic space rock with a pounding stoner rock and 70's rock edge. This demo disc is only 15 minutes long and includes two songs, but that's sufficient for me to know there's some serious alien activity in Kansas City. "Starborn" features a throbbing Black Sabbath bass, wailing psych guitars, bubbling UFO space synths, and freaky efx'd vocals that all come together to create a doom-in-space sonic meltdown. "Sizzlers And Twizzlers" features even more prominent space synths, though the guitars are less stoned and more psychy jam rocking. The song then transitions to space metallic rocking territory with pounding crunch guitar chords and ripping psych-metal leads, and robotic alien efx'd vocals

Thanks to AI reader Leonard Ladd for pointing me to these guys. He had gone to a concert they were the opening act at and was stunned to find a space rock band in his own town. Let's cross our fingers for a full length from these guys soon.
