Dead Earnest Records news:
KREL: At last the follow-up to 'Ad Astra' is nearing completion and we can reveal that it will be called "Out Of Space" and again on the Dead Earnest label. A single CD, it will feature 5 or 6 archive tracks, all previously unreleased versions on any format, from the band that supported Hawkwind on the legendary UK tour back in the early nineties, featuring Martin M on guitar, synth and vocals, Mr Dibs on bass and vocals, Radar Dave on guitar, Floyd on keyboards and backing vocals and Mike on drums, as well as 6 brand new tracks all played and composed by Martin M. Sound samples will be available on the Dead Earnest and UK Sounds web sites in the near future, with release date for the album currently pegged at early October - watch for further details soon.
SPACEHEAD: The next Spacehead album, to be released on Dead Earnest in early November, will be called "Explode Into Space: Inhalations 1998-2000" and, as the title suggests, will be a follow-up to the highly sucessful (and now nearly deleted) "In Space We Trust" album also on Dead Earnest. Consisting entirely of previously unreleased live and studio tracks from various incarnations of the band over this period, it is another audio document of the band's development, with a more consistent set of space-rock songs and instrumentals, led by the electric bass strength and vocal presence of Mr Dibs, and also featuring Martin N of Dr Hasbeen, Graham Clarke and others. Full track list and preview audio samples available soon.
ALAN DAVEY: Brand new Alan Davey solo album, 'The Final Call', now scheduled for September release, following last minute artwork problems. Full review in current CD Services Space-rock catalogue. The album will be a normal CD pressing on the Centaur Discs label and will consist entirely of instrumental tracks, plus one vocal track, that have not been available on any previous Alan Davey album.
For more information you can visit the Dead Earnest web site at: http://dialspace.dial.pipex.com/andygee/index.htm or email Andy G at: andygee@dial.pipex.com.

The 103 page hardcover Graphic Novel, "Rasperries", described by the author as a "satire-comedy", an "absurd comic opera" and "political burlesque", was originally a live action movie screenplay, converted to comics form by the artists, and recently published by Emancipation Press in Waterbury, CT, USA. Written by Green Party activist Dave F. Falvey, with pencils by Steve Goupil (Malibu Comics, Heavy Metal) and acclaimed caricaturist Chad Crowe (San Francisco Guardian, The LA Weekly) with inks by Christian Mumford (Boneyard Press, Psykose, Fidus, Norsk Mad, Pyton, Forresten), it is "The inside story of America's elite and the 'ultra black files' of the CIA as seen and lived by Napoleon Bonaparte", starring an elite cast of characters based on Danny DeVito, Rick Moranis, Rob Carrey, Nicole Kidman, Susan Anton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Pamela Anderson, Margaret Dumont, Don Knotts, Alfred Hitchcock and lead villain Saddam Hussein, it also has a full color cover based on The Beatles' famous "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" 1967 album cover. A feast for the mind as well as the eyes, the book contains many literary and philosophical references, and is thus suitable for readers of all ages, and is of special interest to students and practitioners of US law. Perhaps, at its core, it owes more to Russ Meyer's classic action/topless/comedy flicks or Kurt Vonnegut's satirical novels than anything else, it is a cross-genre, action filled and appealing romp through the underbelly of modern American politics.
